Foundation Rwanda’s mission is to provide education to children born of the 1994 Rwandan genocide. By raising $1.1M, it will complete this mission and #GraduateRwanda.
Help forward education by donating and spreading the message:
- Make a donation
- Post a picture of yourself, a family member or friend on graduation day with the sentence “I’m helping a child in Rwanda reach their graduation day. Visit crowdrise.com/GraduateRwanda to donate $10. #GraduateRwanda”
- Tag and nominate 2 friends to do the same thing!
Over the next month, an estimated 1.6 million college students across America will celebrate their graduation day and prepare to take the next step to fulfil their professional ambitions.
In Rwanda only a small percentage of young people graduate from secondary school, and from the estimated 200,000 children born out of rapes committed during the 1994 genocide, even fewer are likely to receive any education at all.
Since 2008, Foundation Rwanda has been working to build the path forward for more than 700 of those children by providing access to education, transportation, health and nutrition. It has already succeeded in helping the majority of them reach secondary school.
If every US graduate donated $1 this year, Foundation Rwanda would fulfill its mission and ensure all students graduate secondary school with dignity.
