Grameen Internship Program
Organized by: Ben Feldman
Every year hundreds of student interns travel to Dhaka, Bangladesh to intern with the Nobel Peace Prize-winning Grameen Bank. The Bank runs a renowned program that introduces students to micro-finance, rural poverty, women's empowerment, and Bengali culture. However, the Bank's structured program is only for 3-4 weeks and many students would like to participate on a longer structured program. Over the past year I, along with a team of previous interns, have consulted the Bank on their internship program. Our recommendations will be published in a forthcoming academic article in the Journal of Teaching in International Business in coordination with the Pacific Asian Consortium for International Business Education and Research conference in June 2014. To implement our recommendations, the Grameen Bank has invited me to join them in Bangladesh and help structure the extended internship program. I need your help to finance my travel and stay in Dhaka. Please support me in my mission to provide an extended learning opportunity to international students and aid the Grameen Bank in their effort to end poverty in Bangladesh! Thank you for the support!
