I will be walking this race this year and would like to walk it for The Y on Granby's Tutoring Afterschool Club for Kids. Serving the Park Place community of Norfolk for more than ten years, the Tutoring Recreation and Afterschool Club for Kids (TRACK) provides holistic programming to encourage the cognitive, physical, and social development of children. TRACK engages approximately 60 students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math activities weekly through partnerships with the Fawn Street Gardening Community, The Walking Classroom, and The First Tee. Volunteers from Old Dominion University Norfolk State University serve as mentors and role models while tutoring students in reading and math; as well as presenting a variety of social/mental health workshops on bullying and other topics. TRACK is provided at no cost to eligible families, ensuring all children have a safe, quality, and engaging place to learn, grow and thrive. TRACK is offered to students of James Monroe Elementary and Park Place Schools. Please join me at the race or donate to my walking efforts for The Y on Granby's TRACK program.
