Grandma Marie's Feral Fix
Organized by: Amanda Pernell
Long story short, my grandmother has become the unwitting host of over 15 feral cats and kittens in the past year. She lives in rural Franklin county, and her negligent neighbor is responsible for letting the initial batch of unaltered cats loose. My kind-hearted grandmother (who has been caring for this colony of cats) is already dealing with health issues and simply isn't in a financial position to care for all of these cats and kittens.
As much as we all truly love animals, our family has discovered that we can no longer allow the conditions that the feral colony has wrought on her home. There are massive piles of feces everywhere, and the whole yard reeks of urine. It's simply unsanitary and we have little ones who like to visit their grandmother.
If we can raise the funds to have each and every one of these kitties fixed, we can at least control the current population.
I truly hate to say it, but our only other option at this time (for financial reasons) would be to turn this problem over to animal control. That's why I'm reaching out to anyone who can help, to avoid this dreadful alternative.
100% of funds will go towards trapping, surgery, rabies vaccines, after-care, feeding and general care of the cat colony. Every dollar counts, and I hope to be able to share a success story very soon!
