Hello, My grandmother, Elizabeth Ann Hood, was born August 2, 1936 in Darlington, South Carolina. She moved to Atlanic City, New Jersey early 1960s. She moved into her house in 1974, which she still owns today. .. In October of 2012, Hurricane Sandy devastated the east coast, in doing so, .. Flooded and destroyed the bottom half of her home. In effect to repair, she stayed at a motel temporary. In hope that her home would once be whole again, she trusted the contractors FEMA referred her to. Sad to say, the work they started never got finished due to the contractors stopping the work and filing for bankruptcy after already being paid 24,000 in full. This action devastated my grandmother, in thoughts her house would never get repaired. With the inside of her house gutted out do to the FEMA contractors, much repair is still needed.. The house is located in a flood hazardous zone so the house had to be lifted(advised by the state). Currently, my grandmother is staying in Georgia with my mom, but speaks of returning to her home daily.. I am asking for a donation of 5,000$ to be a gift for grandma. She just turned 80 years old this past August. We are blessed to have her. This generous gift would serve as a relief emotionally and financially. .. Every little helps! Thank you in advance! God bless!!
