Grandparent's Rights People's Initiative, WA State
Organized by: Lori Paine
There is an epidemic of loving grandparents in WA State who's relationship with one or more grandchildren has been unfairly severed due to death, divorce or disagreement among one or both parents. In most, if not all other states in our Union, an alienated grandparent would have the right to petition the court for visitation of the grandchild/grandchildren. Not in WA State. These are loving, deserving, involved grandparents, whose only wish is to enjoy and enrich the lives of their grandchildren. The grandchildren are suffering, too. And they don't have a voice. We, G.I.F.T.S in WA State (Grandparents Inspire Family Tradition and Spirit in WA State), are in the initial stages of writing a PEOPLE'S INITIATIVE for GRANDPARENT'S RIGHTS in WA. The people will be able to vote it into law on the 2016 election ballot. Writing an initiative requires funds to pay attorney fees, advertising, printing the detail specific Initiative Petitions for 350,000 voters to sign and people to collect those signatures. We need your help to make the Grandparent's Rights Law a reality in WA State. Please donate! Thank you for your support!
