I am running the 2017 NYC Marathon to raise funds for GRASSROOT SOCCER. I learned about this organization when Survivor winner, Ethan Zohn spoke at a fundraising event I co-chaired a couple of years ago. He helped the Sisterhood of Temple Emanual raise invaluable funding to help fullful our commitment to the women, children and families of Temple Emanuel as well as our surrounding Community. Ethan spoke so eloquently and shared why he co-founded GrassRoot Soccer after winning Survivor-Africa (if you've not watched his season - you must!).
I feel so lucky to have had such easy access to soccer as a youth: Soccer has been an important part of my life since I was a little girl. My parents hardly missed a game and my twin sister and I made many friends and memories together on the soccer field.
Rob and I enjoy coaching our children and cherish this special time with them on the soccer field!
Please consider donating to my fundraising page!
Oh and PLUS: I am turning my crochet hobby into a "Thank You" for your GRASSROOT SOCCER donation so as I receive donations (let's be honest - any chance I have downtime!) I am crocheting blankets to be donated to Project Linus. https://www.facebook.com/Project-Linus-Greater-Boston-Chapter-151519221555572/
Grassroot Soccer (GRS) is an adolescent health organization that uses the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize young people to lead healthier lives and be agents of change in their communities. Since 2002, GRS has reached over 1.9 million young people with critical health information & life skills programs.
It only costs $25 to support one young person through GRS's core program/ Together, you can help us reach an additional 6,000 adolescents in 2017!
