Graveling The Castlebraid Street Trees
Organized by: James White
I have a simple plan: buy a bunch of gravel, and place it in our tree pits.
We have four tree pits to fill, and each will require approximately three bags of gravel. I'll buy a total of fourteen bags (two spare, in case we turn out to be a touch short), each of which is $7 at Crest Hardware. With tax, cost will be ~$110.
I'll also dig out the old weeds and trash and do all the work involved in dumping the gravel - though spare hands and cars are of course welcome.
Our street will look a million times better, and the trees will likely stay healthier for years to come. Gravel is much more durable than mulch, and ought to stay in place for many seasons.
