We are climbing Grays and Torreys on July 22nd as part of the 3rd annual Climbing for ROMP event!
Join ROMP and Paralympic athlete and ROMP Board Member, Sandy Dukat, as we make our way up not one, but TWO 14ers! Grays and Torreys will provide enough challenge to make you grateful for your mobility, but not so much that you want to call your mom crying.
The hike will take approximatley five to six hours round trip. We will leave from the main parking lot at 7 am, in order to summit before the afternoon clouds and storms come rolling in. Some previous hiking experience is necessary.
In order to successfully climb this mountain, you will need the following:
Hat, lots of sunscreen, lots of snacks, lots of water, sunglasses, gloves (for the scramble at the top), several layers, long pants, sturdy hiking shoes that are water resistant, and a great attitude.
Walking sticks or ski poles are recommended for support.
Come prepared to enjoy great company and great conversation!
