BENEFITING: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butler County, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Apr 30, 2017
This program means way more to me than just a job. The reason why I am apart of BBBS is because of the kids. The picture above is from 2009. My former Little Sister was Rachel and we were matched for 4 1/2 years. We have just recently connected and she is now 18, at Butler Tech, and living on her own! She has grown up to be such a beautiful, competent woman and I am so proud to call her my Little Sister. BBBS changes childrens' lives and I consider myself lucky to be involved (in more ways than one) to such a great organization. If you don't know what BBBS does: Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring is a researched based national model, and our agency has helped Butler County children increase their social competencies, improve grades and achieve success in life for 49 years. At the heart of our model is proper training, screening and support for all program participants. Each participant in our programs is trained, interviewed, screened and then professionally supported with regular contact by a Big Brothers Big Sisters professional staff member. We provide caring, volunteer mentors to children ages 6 through 18 throughout Butler County.
