Greater Chance For Success
Organized by: Michael Orozco
I want to raise money to help children with ADHD, OCD, Tourettes, and other disabilities. I am Eighteen years old currently going to school to be a paramedic/Firefighter. I have ADHD, OCD, anxiety and have had depression that I am still struggling with today. Going through school was and still is a challenge because of these things. Everyday is a struggle that goes way passed just school. With ADHD I can't keep focus on one thing without eventually getting distracted without even knowing. Its hard to talk to people because I am afraid I will say the wrong thing because of everything that is going through my head so I start stressing out and having a panic attack. I get even more stressed because of my OCD, once i start up my car I have to press the gas three times or else it bugs me and I start scratching to the point where I start cutting my arms. Most of the times I wear hats because if i have one strand of hair out of place I freak out and in my mind people are looking at me thinking i don't care about my appearance and am not motivated. In school I was always called stupid even my junior high principle said I was just lazy and there was no hope. All the way up to the end of eighth grade year my parents couldn't figure out why i was never doing well in school. teachers would just say I'm lazy and do care about school when it was the complete opposite. I wanted to learn but always got frustrated because I wasn't like the other kids. I could read sentences on the board right because my brain would force on just one sentence it would look at every little thing on the board from picture to a marker cap. The whole point of this fundraiser is to help out kids with disabilities such as these and let them know its okay. I want the money to go to them for things that can help them live their lives a little bit easier such as doing events to were they feel comfortable, having them see a therapist because i know these sort of things really isn't easy to talk about and just knowing someone is there for them I believe will make them think more positively about their lives and would even help them be successful.
