THE STORY:

GREATER CINCINNATI BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES wrote -

Do you know someone who has been affected by mental illness or addiction? Too many of our families in the Greater Cincinnati area have witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of untreated mental illness and addiction which can cause chaos and pain in their lives and the lives of their family, friends and community.

Do you know that with the right support and services, people and families are getting their lives back?

Last year, Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services, or GCB, served nearly 15,000 people through our award-winning behavioral health services.

GCB is nationally recognized for its innovative programs and services, including psychiatric services, care management, counseling, primary care, child and family services, addiction services, employment and housing services.

As the region's largest  behavioral health organization, we are currently experiencing an unprecedented number of people in need of our mental health and substance abuse services. We rely on donors and supporters to help us expand and sustain our services and to fill in the gaps in our funding.  The costs of delivering many of our service are not covered, and our costs continue to increase.

Will you join us and Take a Stand for Mental Health by making a generous donation today?  Please help us by giving to this important campaign and change the lives of thousands of people in need of our help!

Here's how your gift can help:

  • $1,000 provides one month of psychiatric visits forone person with intensive mental health needs
  • $500 provides five hours of intensive home-based treatment for an emotionally disturbed child
  • $250 provides four sessions on job seeking skills and job search assistance
  • $100 provides an assessment for a young person experiencing psychosis for the first time
  • $50 enables a victim of domestic violence to have a potentially livesaving phone call with a crisis counselor

When you consider the cost of untreated mental illness and addiction to families and to our community, even the smallest of gifts can make a big difference in the life of someone in need.
