The Greek Refugee Project
Team Member: Lainey Miller
EVENT DATE May 09, 2016
God has opened a door for us (Alyssa and Lainey) to go to Lesvos, Greece (an island near Turkey) to share the love of Christ to the huge influx of Middle Eastern and Syrian refugees. While we are there we will be doing what we are referring to as "digital missions" where we will use the talents and gifts God has given us (videography and photography), through sharing real stories and testimonies of what God is doing in the midst of this crisis. We will be on the front lines assisting refugees while sharing the hope and joy of Christ with them.
The Syrian crisis seems bleak and hopeless through the eyes of The Media, but we believe that our God is a God of HOPE, and we want to document that hope through videography and photography. This outlet of media can change lives, and reach thousands of people that would otherwise be unaware! We are not going over to exploit these beautiful children of God, but rather to show them love and give refugees an outlet to share about what God has done through this crisis.
We will be working close with a team from YWAM Bethlehem (The base I have been working with for the past year) that will be on the ground, but we will also be partnering with the local YWAM Bases and EuroRelief. We are believing that God will provide 100% of our funds. We both believe that we are a very small part of what God wants to do in this nation, and by saying “yes”, God will use us in HUGE ways!
We are in need of a total of $3,800 USD together. We would be so thankful is you would prayerfully consider partnering with us, and financially making it possible for us to go love on these refugees.
