In the context of the countdown for the Olympics, we will be participating in a number of P&G Capital Clean-Up Events to groom and prepare London for the 2012 Games and we would like to use this opportunity to raise funds and awareness about the amazing mission of an outstanding organization, Echoing Green, and its Social Investment Council (SIC).
Echoing Green is a non-profit global social venture fund that identifies, invests in and supports emerging social entrepreneurs to unleash next generation talent and solve the world’s biggest problems.
Since its founding in 1987, EG has provided more than 500 promising social entrepreneurs working in over forty countries with $31 million in start-up funding, customized support services, and access to a global network of champions. These social innovators have gone on to launch, and now lead, some of today’s most important social enterprises throughout the world such as Teach for America in the US, City Year globally and SKS Microfinance in India.
Echoing Green was named after a William Blake poem about creating a better world and takes its name from the echoes of children’s laughter while playing on a green. We will be working to clean some of London’s parks (so they can also become “echoing greens”) to raise funds for a different type of Green.
Please help us keep providing ongoing support to this incredible community of changemakers by donating on this page and supporting our efforts to improve our own community here in London.
