BENEFITING: Tree Trust
EVENT DATE: Sep 26, 2015
Tree Trust donors from throughout the metro have already made it possible to plant 40 trees at Scenic Heights Park this fall, but we need to plant 100 trees to make an authentic impact, as this park is in danger of losing much of its shade cover due to the onset of emerald ash borer.
Scenic Heights Park in Shakopee is adjacent to Shakopee East Junior High School and part of the Scenic Heights-Tahpah Park Trail. More than one-third of the trees are ash and expected to be lost in coming years due to the rapidly approaching emerald ash borer. This effort is a wonderful opportunity to get ahead of impending tree loss while improving water and air quality.
As a member of the community, we invite you to join this effort to contribute funds for planting trees this fall. Sponsors at $100 or above by Sept. 10 will be recognized at the planting event and in pre-event promotion. Sponsors at $1,000 or more will also be recognized on a plaque displayed at the park.
On September 26, community volunteers will join Tree Trust and the City of Shakopee to plant a variety of trees to be enjoyed by the community for years to come. Be part of a lasting green future, donate to put trees in the ground today!
Since 2008, Tree Trust’s Green Futures Fund has provided trees to 14 Twin Cities communities. With your help we can beautify a valuable part of the Shakopee community.
