BENEFITING: AMBASSADOR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
EVENT DATE: Aug 28, 2015
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace - 1 Peter 4:10
God has opened a door for me to use my network engineering skills to further his kingdom in multiple ways. I will be equipping the pastors of the Presbyterian Church in the Gambia with tablets to assist in their education and visiting a children’s home established by Remember Nhu & the church in Serekunda, The Gambia.
Every few months, the pastors gather together for training in the room that you see pictured on the left of this page. Teachers from around the world come and usually have to bring large stacks of paper with them which the pastors in turn have to take back to their villages on foot. When I spoke to one of the pastors in May about my idea during his trip to the U.S., he nearly wept and said that this gift would change their lives.
I will also be working on setting up 4G internet at the training facility as well, so that they can obtain online education material.
The children's home exists to prevent children from ever being subject to human trafficking. Their hope is to open future children's homes in The Gambia. This prevention based model is already working in Cambodia & Thailand. My visit to the children's home will be to better understand how technology could assist in the children's education. You can read more about Nhu here.
To make this trip a reality, I need to personally raise about $2,300 to cover expenses. Will you consider partnering with me? Thank you for your consideration! Our team and our families also covet your prayers to make this trip truly exceptional.
Please note: all donations will go directly to my church to support this trip. As such, donations are tax-deductible. There is an approximately 8% fee that crowdrise will take, and I will personally be contributing the % difference for whatever is given here, to make the total match your intended amount.
