What do you do when you're turning 40 and want to test your vitality? Race 3000 feet up a ski resort on your mountain bike. Greg challenged himself every year in the Widow Maker race until he was diagnosed with brain cancer and was unable to ride his bike. As he endured radiation, chemotherapy, and multiple setbacks, Greg fought to return to the sport he loved. From not being able to walk unassisted to riding a recumbant bike then a spin bike, Greg battled 3 and a half years.
Although the Widow Maker is one hell of a race (Greg said every year he questioned why he was punishing himself), it is just a glimpse into what those battling cancer face every day. So what better way to raise awareness and funds for brain tumor research than to take Greg's Challenge. Enter the hill climb and gather sponsers or join a team on this site as a virtual rider.
