On the fourth Saturday of every month, the volunteers of the Grenada Food Pantry organize and put together bags of groceries to be distributed to low-income recipients in Grenada County. There are over 75 volunteers who perform the various duties required for monthly food distribution. Those duties include ordering the food, unloading the food at delivery, bagging up the food prior to distribution and the actual day of distribution when approximately 1000 or more bags of food are distributed. The volunteers consist all ages and races and the activities required have brought the community together across racial and age barrier lines. Food costs are going higher every day and unemployment is still high too. This is such a wonderful cause in our community. Please consider helping us out.
