Organized by: Adrienne Smith
Event Name: Women Startup Challenge
Gridiron Queendom (GIQ) is a sports media enterprise dedicated to women and girls around the world who play tackle or flag football. Through media and live events, we empower girls and women worldwide to learn the game and enjoy the sport.
American football is considered the last “male-dominated” sport. The women and girls who choose to play football are often marginalized or ignored by mainstream society. Unfortunately, this mindset is taken even further for teen and tween girls who are sometimes bullied, harassed, and even prevented by law from participating in the sport they love.
Gridiron Queendom's mission is to even the playing field by using technology to: 1) increase and promote opportunities for women and girls to play tackle and flag football, 2) provide educational resources for learning about strategy and safety regarding the game, and 3) facilitate interaction amongst female football enthusiasts worldwide.
