BENEFITING: Jesuit Volunteer Corps
The Jesuit Volunteer Corps had a life-changing impact on my life. Coming out of college, I had an finite view of the world with the hopes of giving back in some small way. I chose becoming a Jesuit Volunteer and in doing so was given the opportunity to shift my frame of thinking to acknowledge the privileges I was exposed to and realize the oppressed around me.
Since finishing my time as a volunteer, I have continued to work in the non-profit world, first in direct service, then in volunteer support, and now in an advancement role to raise awareness of the injustices present in Baltimore. While I spend my days working to support the programs of St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore, I don't forget how I got here and that it would not have been possible without the influence of the staff, former volunteers, coworkers, and peers I had the honor to work alongside as a Jesuit Volunteer.
So! This is the beginning of a new journey for me to give back. Although I contribute financially to support JVC, I am unable to do so at a capacity that matches my appreciation for the impact it has had on my life and the lives of over 300 new college graduates each year. I'm asking that you support my cause to ensure that JVC remains a enriching, formative, and thriving direct service opportunity for generations to come.
Join me in supporting an organization that makes an impact not only through the service currently happening by our current Jesuit Volunteers, but the work that continues to be done through Former JVs whose lives were also impacted by this formative experience!
