BENEFITING: GRASSROOT SOCCER
ORGANIZER: GRASSROOT SOCCER
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
I'm running the NYC marathon again, but this time for a most worthy cause, to help Grassroot Soccer in the fight against HIV and AIDS. I first learned about GRS and its terrific work when my family and I went to the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. What a brilliant idea, to use the power of soccer to educate, inspire, and mobilize communities to stop the spread of HIV. It is an honor to run for this organization and with this team.
In the past four years, GRS's NYC Marathon Teams have raised over $1/2 million to provide HIV and AIDS education, testing and treatment to thousands of young people. Now Grassroot Soccer is moving forward with the official goal of reaching 1 million youth educated and empowered by World Cup 2014.
Please help GRS reach its important goal and help save lives by contributing to your favorite runner (me)!!
