Any time a parent has to bury a child, it is a tragedy. The ravages of cancer make it particularly difficult for both the child and the parents. I watched as my friends, Ken and Tanya, went though this with their son, Will. We all need to do whatever we can to minimize this dreadful disease. That is why I agreed to join the Board of Directors for Team Will. I cannot ride a bike cross-country, but I can drive a van. I am grateful to be able to play even a small role in raising awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer.
“Go the Distance 2012” is set for June 24 - July 3, 2012. This time riding from San Francisco, CA to Boston, MA, in 10 days, Team Will plans to cross 14 states, visit 18 hospitals and participate in 7 community rallies with a goal of raising $125,000 for family support services and childhood cancer research.
