My desire to participate in Team Will GTD16 is rooted from several aspects. The overall and most important goal and desire is to bring hope for children and families who are struggling with cancer. I also desire to be the glimmer of light during the dark times that many of these families face.
This trip is not about me. Not about any race. This trip is about being part of something greater than myself. About giving back and simply loving those who need it most.
I am excited to share this journey with other cyclists who share the same passion as I, especially to be the first Father and Son-In-Law duo with Brian Williams. This will be my first time participating in Team Will's GTD. I look forward to visiting the children and families, building lasting relationships with the families that we are able to support, and also learning about myself and my personal limits.
The final reason I would like to participate in GTD16 is to give back some of what God has given me. I am thankful and grateful for the ability and health to participate in the ride, and I want to use myself to help those in need. I hope that during the months leading up and the trek across country, that my relationship with my Heavenly Father will grow and I can be a faithful servant to the Lord.
A journey as great as this does require financial support from friends, family, neighbors and acquaintances. I want to make a difference. A big difference. My goal this year is to raise $4,000! I would be so thankful and appreciative if you would consider being a part of this journey and sponsoring me for this ride. If a donation is not something you can provide, then prayers and well-wishes are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Team Will's cornerstone event “Go the Distance 2016” is set for June 22 - July 2, 2016. We will be riding from San Francisco, CA to Margate City, NJ in 11 days while crossing 14 states, visiting 18 hospitals and participating in 7 community rallies with a goal of raising $125,000 for family support services and childhood cancer research.
