Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc. a 501 (c)(3) based in Williston, Florida. We rescue, raise, train and then donate individually trained, federally-protected medical service dogs to those suffering from disabilities that are both visible and invisible.
Our dogs can mitigate many challenges, such as retrieving dropped items; opening doors, drawers and refrigerators; turning on & off lights; alerting to seizures, nightmares and insulin imbalances; and they can even call for help in an emergency.
With so many soldiers returning home from war, the need is great. Statistics now show that a veteran is attempting or committing suicide at the rate of one every 80 minutes. Our veterans are also suffering from increased rates of divorce, chemical dependency and loss of independence. But once paired with a Guardian Angels Medical Service Dog - the rate of suicide, attempted suicide & divorce all fall to ZERO. Our recipients report either reductions or eliminations of prescription drugs, improved confidence & mobility and even a return to family life and the work force.
By providing a veteran with a medical service dog - you are not making a quick fix, or giving them temporary relief, this is permanently changing lives for the better.
Because the cost of a service dog nationally can average between $20,000 - $25,000, the price is too much for many of our veterans. That's why at Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, none of our recipients are ever charged even one dime for their service dog, and why, more than ever, we need your support.
