I know I am the first to complain about the price of books, but for the first time I am thankful for how much they are so we can give in return! This is a fundraiser for Gulu University Law School. Their teachers have one official copy of the book and all the students take notes as they can and then go to the library where there is sometimes a copy of that book, or copies of donated books from the US or the UK! And then they have to study to pass the bar after never actually having their own book!! I can't even imagine. This is a fundraiser to collect books and donated money in order to send the money with next year's class from OU Law that goes to Uganda. That class will buy books in Kampala and bring them to Gulu to help the law students have their own books! No matter how much I complain about the price of books, how lucky that we actually have access to them, whether it's to share with friends, borrow, rent, or buy! It's so cool to be able to give someone else the opportunity we have, even in the smallest way!! I challenge all students to give back- even if it's $5 of your buy back books or above and beyond! I also challenge adults who have been privileged with education, to realize how lucky we are to be educated in America and donate to help the students of Gulu University!! I had the opportunity, along with 4 others, to meet and hang out with the Gulu University Law Students and they are world changers!! They deal with stuff we can't even imagine, and this is a great way we can pat them on their back and let them know we're on your team and we want you to succeed!!
