BENEFITING: Global Youth Connect
EVENT DATE: Dec 01, 2012
Mileage Tracker: 26
This year I'm running in the Philadelphia Marathon on November 18 to raise money to support Global Youth Connect (GYC), which works to promote human rights and prevent genocide.
In 2010, I joined the board of GYC because it's important to me to provide younger generations with the tools that will help them defend human rights in their communities.
We conduct human right and genocide prevention training throughout the year in Rwanda and Bosnia. This year we hosted our first training in New York City.
Since I'll be running 26.2 miles, I'm asking 100 of my friends and former and current colleagues to donate at least $1 a mile. 100 Friends x $26 (26.2 miles) = $2,600. Of course any amount you can donate helps. Thank you for your supporting my run and GYC! For more information about GYC, go to http://www.globalyouthconnect.org/.
