Hello and thank you for visiting my crowdrise page! My name is Rebecca Trackman and I am a member of Engineers Without Borders at Binghamton University.
Why is H20 for Hipolito important to me?
Every year, millions of people die because the water they are drinking is unclean and filled with bacteria that causes diseases. Having clean water is a luxury that most people don't even think about today. We have unlimited access to water to do anything we want such as brush our teeth, take a shower, wash our hands, etc. However, not everyone has this kind of unlimited access, and it is important that we realize what others are going through and not take things like clean water for granted.
What I hope to accomplish through Engineers Without Borders in this project?
Myself and my peers in our chapter of Engineers Without Borders are very excited to help and do our part to make the world a better place. With this project, we will be able to provide clean water to over 300 people in the village of Hipolito in Peru. In addition, we will be able to put our education and pending degrees to use while helping to construct this new water filtration system. I hope this project shows that just a small group of people can make a big difference and demonstrate how committed we are to helping not only the local community, but to the world as well.
