BENEFITING: Orange County, NC, Habitat for Humanity
Last spring break, I went on a life changing volunteer trip through Habitat for Humanity to Siguatepeque, Honduras where I worked on building a home for a family in need. That short week made me realize how fortunate I am to have the opportunity to help others that need my help. Since my trip to Honduras was a life changing experience, I applied to be and was chosen as an international trip co-leader. This means it is now my responsibility to ensure that my team of twelve undergraduate students from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill do everything we can to fund raise $24,000. This money covers the cost of traveling expenses, the materials needed for building the home, and the salary for two masons.
