Good Morning I am Phil Little and I look forward to swimming the Mighty Mac while raising money for Habitat for Humanity. Three years ago I found myself overweight and out of shape, I guess that is normal for someone in there 60's. I decide to make a change. I decide to change my way of eating, and started to exercise. I also decided I wanted to be active with my 7 Grandchildren and not just a spectator. I lost 50 pounds and ran my first half Marathon, I might not be fast but I did it. The next year I upped my training routine and entered my first Triathalon, which I became addictive too, I also ran two more half Marathons and a few 5K's along with the Warrior Dash and the Down and Dirty.
Getting ready to turn 65 I decide to challange myself every year with a new mountain to climb, so I entered Steelhead a half Iron Man while raising money for World Vision. Since swimming has always been my strength I concentrated on biking and running and finished faser than I planned. In the past I swam 8 years competively, taught swimming and spent a number of years coaching an age group swim team so swimming the Mighty Mac seemed to be a perfect fit.
This year I feel honored to be accepted to swim the Mighty Mac but just as important is to raise money for Habitat for Humanity and support the work they do throughout Michigan.
I hope you support me in this quest and all the swimmers
