My fund raising has hit a wall - i need help

EVENT DATE Jun 30, 2016
Habitat for Humanity’s (H4H) largest international event of 2016, the Vietnam Big Build is putting together an international team of around 300 volunteers to build housing alongside their future residents in a rural community of tea farmers in North Vietnam. Each volunteer is asked to raise a contribution towards the cost of materials while finding their own out of pocket expenses for travel, food & accommodation. Somehow I found myself attending a meeting at our local chapter of H4H Orange County, CA and was drawn into to volunteer. I have set my sights on trying to reach a minimum of $2,000 towards this project. I hope you can help me realize that goal.
This project appeals to me deeply because this is not simply a giving of money, or an hour or two of your time but a real commitment to travel almost halfway around the world and work beside a family building their home. Home is so important, it provides not only the necessary shelter and protection from the elements you need to get through life but also a stable platform that a family needs to grow and thrive from. On top of all of that working together with an international team sounds a challenge and learning opportunity in of itself. We will all arrive with many different levels of skill and expertise and I hope to be able to contribute in a positive fashion. Everyone I met and spoke with talked about the new friends they made, in the teams they previously worked in and in the countries they deployed to. I hope to find the same rewards.
The build site is situated in the province of Phu Tho outside of Hanoi, there we will build approximately 40 homes and detached bathrooms alongside the low-income partner families. The province of Phu Tho has urgent economic needs and will welcome Habitat’s influx of volunteers and resources.
Please help me realize their goals. Thank you in advance for your generosity and supporting me in this experience.
