I'm inviting you to join me in a personal Habitat mission. As you know, I work at the local Habitat affiliate and get the privilege of raising funds to strengthen families lives through stable home-ownership.
I have an opportunity to take my commitment to a completely different level by building homes in Guatemala. The really amazing part about this is that my local Habitat tithes to the village we're going to build in ... for every home we renovate in Washtenaw County, we sponsor one abroad. Basically that means my work for the last four years has been helping families here already!
I need to raise $1,000 to cover my portion of the trip, which includes all the materials we'll need for the concrete style homes. It's going to be a hard week, but one that will have life-long impacts on these families.
If you're interested, I'd love to have you be part of this adventure through a (tax-deductible!) donation. Thank you so much!
Here's a little bit more about me:
I got married to Jeremy Kratz, a med student, just over than three weeks ago. He and I have a heart for underserved populations, and have talked about how together we can make an impact. We're not sure what that looks like yet. Maybe we'll work in a big city in the US. Maybe we'll partner with a medical mission in a third world country. We're really not sure - but we do know that we both long to make a real difference through our lives.
Jeremy and I are always looking for ways to live out our faith. While this is just a week opportunity to be in Guatemala, it will help us shape our dream and passion in an even more focused light.
I've loved Habitat because I can honestly say that we do what we say we do, and that it works. As an organization we're always checking in to make sure that we're on the right path. I'm excited to see how this plays out in Habitat's International work.
