Have you heard how the Boys & Girls Clubs helps our youth?
Today, children face incredible odds and Fairfax County is no exception. Reality threatens to rob youth of the childhood they deserve. Some manage to reach adulthood mature and strong. Yet so many struggle and fall between the cracks, never realizing their potential. For Fairfax County Club kids, gangs, drugs and sex trafficking, are very real problems they deal with everyday.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW) has been helping our youth realize their potential and reach higher than they ever imagined.
The Next Generation Committee (NGC) is a not-for-profit started by a group of very passionate, young DC Metro area professionals that support the BGCGW, Fairfax County region in their mission to empower our next generation. We are inspired to take action and be the change to support our youth. We asked ourselves, "If not us, then who?"
And that's where you come in! We invite you to Lend A Hand, and join us in our annual fundraising and Club service day project on Saturday, September 26, 2015.
This is your opportunity to gather your friends, family and co-workers to make a real impact for our Clubs. Today our Clubs serve 500+ kids a year so you can imagine our facilities could use a bit of help! Imagine you and your friends giving our Clubs a fresh coat of paint or assembling furniture or building picnic tables for our kids to enjoy after school.
This year our amazing Club staff have asked for $10,000 in additional funding for our music, arts and technology programs that have the biggest need! All our funds raised will go direct to the Fairfax County region to help our local Club kids.

What does it mean to be a team project leader?
We want our teams to be successful in completing their Service Day project and ensuring everyone enjoys their experience of course! Leaders will receive training and information in advance of Service Day to support their team. Also, the most important part, you choose your team project based upon location, team size and project preference! We know, not too bad, right?
