Last year, eight architects from the MG2 D.C. office set out to design a school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. With the support of the MG2 Foundation, Haiti Outreach Ministries and contributions from generous donors such as you, they are now working towards their dream of building it.
To help them achieve their goal, the MG2 Foundation has created this fundraising page and made the first donation to help kickstart their efforts to raise $10,000 by July 1, 2016.
Below is a breakdown of how the team plans to utilize the $10,000 amount:
- $8,000 will be allotted toward the cost of purchasing materials for building the school and paying for team members' airline tickets to Haiti to manage its construction.
- $2,000 will be awarded in the form of a scholarship to one deserving Haitian student, enabling them to pay their annual tuition to the school from seventh grade all the way through to graduation.
With structural and architectural plans submitted to H.O.M. in March and prepping for the foundation already under way, the aim is to have members of the MG2 D.C. team onsite in Haiti starting in August, with all phases of construction scheduled to be complete by the end of 2017.
