BENEFITING: Direct Relief
EVENT: The Berkeley Half Marathon
THE STORY:
Haiyan Relief Run
THE PHILIPPINES NEEDS YOUR HELP! On Thursday, November 7, 2013, Super Typhoon Haiyan ripped through the central islands of the Philippines. The effects of the tsunami-like wall of water have been catastrophic.
The death toll is in the thousands. And the destruction has created an unprecedented need for basic necessities to help people to survive.
We ask that you please help contribute to the relief effort by sponsoring or donating to our Fundraising group “Haiyan Relief Run” as part of 2013 Berkeley Half Marathon. We’re dedicating this 13.1 mile run to the victims of Typhoon Haiyan. And ask you—our friends, family, colleagues, and supporters—to sponsor our efforts and donate to DirectRelief and to designated your contributions to “Typhoon Haiyan.”
Direct Relief will use all contributions designated for “Typhoon Relief” or “Typhoon Haiyan” solely for relief and recovery efforts related to the Typhoon. Please help us exceed our goal of $5,000.00. Please contribute and be part of our Haiyan Relief Run!
