Halee's Trek for Education
Organized by: Halee Roberson
My name is Halee Roberson, and I am a student in the Environmental Management and Natural Resources program at West Career and Technical Academy. I have approximately a year and half until I leave for college, meaning I have just a year and a half to figure out what I want to do with my life. I'd be using this trip to determine which environmental field I'd want to dedicate my life to. On this trip, I'd have the opportunity to travel to Central America and trek through the rainforest, exploring the ways of the local people as I experience the natural life they're able to see everyday, and pick sugar cane with my bare hands just as they do. I'd have the opportunity to zip through the treetops on a canopy tour and drift down the rocky water as I participate in whitewater rafting. For me, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity as I financially am not able to fund this trip myself, explaining the need for this site, and this trip, if not for educational and community service opportunities, would be nowhere near this amount of money. I'd really appreciate anything you have to give, even if just a dollar. Thank you so much, for even reading this, as you're a part of my trek for education.
