EVENT DATE & ENTERTAINMENT: Saturday Oct. 31, 2015 - Halloween Night featuring Booker T. Jones with his band and 20+ additional artists! Click the "See more" link below for event details.
WHERE: Honolulu's Capitol District - Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM - 250 S Hotel St, Honolulu, HI 96813) and surrounding streets.
THE RACE: The Hallowbaloo 'Marathon' is 1.0 mile 'race.' This, our 2nd annual ‘run for the arts,’ is all about supporting local arts and culture nonprofits and having a great time doing so. To call yourself a Hallowbaloo 'Marathon' FINISHER, you must complete three laps around the course which runs down the center of festival grounds (Hotel St. & Richards Street - see www.hallowbaloo.com for a map). Some might say this is not an actual marathon, but we beg to differ - ‘marathoners’ running/walking/parading down the center of Hallowbaloo decked out in full Halloween regalia and circumnavigating the festival not once but thrice - a mighty challenge! But we know you're up to the task. Join us by clicking the "Register" button above, or if you live in a land far, far away and cannot attend, click the "Donate" button to contribute to a participating arts nonprofit. All will be rewarded with grand smiles.
STARTING GUN / RACE DIVISIONS / AWARDS: Onsite 'race' registration starts at 5pm (pickup your runner # & wristband). The Hallowbaloo festival starts at 5:30pm. The Hallowbaloo ‘Marathon’ starting gun fires at 5:45pm. As you kick off your marathon journey, all stages will be alit with scintillating music, and all vending and beverage stations will open. Runners will have 30 minutes to complete the ‘race’ (1.0 mile). Prizes will be awarded for race divisions including best group costume, most spirited fundraiser/runner, best individual costume and more. This year’s prizes include a neighbor-island fly-away for two, a roving whiskey tour, the ultimate selfie with Booker T. Jones and more! Click the following link for details:
ENTERTAINMENT: While ‘runners’ roam the grounds, there will be loads of entertainment on festival stages and in the street. A smorgasbord of wild sights and sounds will propel you to the finish line - hordes of eye-popping costumes and a kaleidoscope of music ranging from Sewa Fare’ African drum and dance to the horn-driven, high-steppin’ rhythms of Good Foot and more. Get your costume ready, come join the fun and support the arts in Hawai'i!
FUNDRAISING: Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Hawai‘i arts & culture nonprofits. CrowdRise.com makes it easy and fun to celebrate, honor and show your support for participating organizations. We're excited about engaging the community to help us reach our goal, and we thank you in advance for your participation in this one-of-a-kind event!
