Our organization is comprised of community-based providers, industry professionals, activists and advocates serving the homeless runaway youth in the greater Los Angeles area. Our members provide instruction and oversee our programs in hopes of giving the runaway youth a base education to build a structure and future in the art and entertainment industry. By providing our educational programs and supportive services, these youths will have the potential to enter into the workforce earning incomes that will allow for a more stable start into adulthood.
With plans of collaborative efforts, Hamlet for the Homeless seeks to provide an extensive foundation of services and resources spanning a multitude of regionally based educational organizations and social welfare providers. Along with generous funding from our donors, it is our hopes to provide an unmitigated continuum of care, incorporating emergency necessities with therapeutic and health services, educational and creative arts programs and employment resources.
Our organization relies on the generosity of our donors. Our fundraising goals include:
- The purchase of a property for programming and a safe haven for those we serve as well as a place for future performances.
- Much needed personal care, toiletries, winter clothing, shoes and much more
- Programing supplies such as educational essentials (ie: writing materials, computer equipment, etc.) and performance supplies (ie: set design and costume materials, etc.)
- Although we rely heavily on industry and community volunteerism, a portion of funding will be allocated in order to provide optimal educational programs.
