Here’s something you should know: Every hour one man in the U.S. is diagnosed with testicular cancer (TC). It is highly treatable — in fact, 99 percent curable — when found and treated at its earliest stages. In the case of TC, awareness is essentially the cure.
Sean Kimerling, PIX Sports Reporter, was only 37 when he died from Testicular Cancer because the symptoms were not known to him. The Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation believes that no man need die from TC. Boys and men 15-40 are at most at risk for TC.
So come out, bring your wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends and families for a fun race that helps spread the good news about testicular cancer - find it and cure it!
With that in mind, we encourage people in the New York area to "be ballsy" and check out the 3rd Annual The Running of the Balls 5K and 10K, produced by NYCRUNS, on Roosevelt Island. ALSO form a crowdrise team, so friends not running can support this worthy cause.
The race will take place on Fathers Day Weekend, June 20, 2015.
