"To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark." — Victor Hugo, Les Miserables
Hannah F. is a rising 1st grader at Q300, a NYC public school located in Astoria. She, along with her fellow students, is participating in a fun and educational activity to support learning for young people through the 3rd annual Summer Read-a-thon.
This fun summer activity will not only encourage Hannah to explore the world around her through the written word but will also help raise essential funds to support Q300. The Q300 community is an amazing group of passionate, socially-conscious and dedicated children, parents, teachers and administrators. Our first year at the school has been amazing and inspiring! That is why we are in full support of the Q300 Parent and Teachers Association Read-a-Thon. The money raised will help sustain the school's commitment to academic and cultural enrichment for young people. This year's efforts will directly fund the school's arts and music enrichment programs.
Please consider sponsoring Hannah's summer reading efforts. You can donate a set amount or sponsor her for every book she reads. As the summer progresses, we'll send out updates on her favorite stories. We set up this site to make donating easy and convenient. You can also sign up on a hard-copy sheet that is traveling up and down the Northeast. If you prefer this method, we can make arrangements...
Thanks in advance for your support. We hope you enjoy your reading this summer too!
"Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read." — Groucho Marx
