Join us on Sunday, June 12, 2016 for the first annual Race for ACE fundraiser! It’s an event that honors the courage, strength and life of Andy Ecker, while raising funds for pediatric cancer.
The event begins at 1pm at Cyc Fitness (4 Astor Place) for two 45-minute spinning sessions where we’ll ride, sweat and cheer each other on. After, we’ll head to Professor Thoms, a beloved Michigan bar (219 2nd Ave, btwn 13th & 14th streets) for food, drinks, and celebration.
To secure a bike, we are asking participants to raise a minimum of $200. There are 104 spots available in the two classes, so start fundraising now if you want a chance to spin! If you would like to participate or join us at Professor Thoms, but do not plan to ride, we encourage you to contribute to an individual biker’s fundraising page, or to the group. Click on the "Race / Fundraise" button at the top right of the page to participate in the Cyc event. If you would like to come to the After Party at Professor Thoms, a donation of $20 or more will get you a free drink.
This event is organized by Andy’s family and friends to honor his brave fight against brain cancer, which he sadly lost in July of 2015. But more broadly, the Race for ACE is about recognizing Andy’s legacy as a passionate Michigan fan, mathematical genius, hardworking employee of Macquarie Capital, winner of every board game ever played, welcoming and loyal friend, loving big brother, amazing son and all around remarkable man. Please join us in celebrating his life!
