David and I (Hannah) met in the Air Force back in 2007. We are both strong believers in Jesus Christ and we do our best to follow him every day. We are both from Oregon, but met on the other side of the globe during a deployment to Al Dhafra Air Base in United Arab Emirates. I separated from the military when we had their first child. Over the years, children have been a passion of ours, and we've helped out at numerous youth ministries and done some mission trips with youth to Poland, and Italy. David is still currently active duty. He was in Afghanistan when I had our second child, Gabriel. It was the hardest I think I've ever done, but it made us stronger, and we grew so much through it.
After the birth of Gabriel, I had a large tumor about the size of a large grapefruit within the inner lining of my uterus. It had to be removed. It was painful to know that I would never experience the miracle of birth from my body again, but I tried to focus on the two blessings I already had. Although, something was telling me there was something else...someone else...that was supposed to complete our family. We prayed for over a year about adoption, and began the process in November of 2014. God pointed us toward Peru and a piece of our hearts has been there ever since.
David is my handsome man who loves to BBQ, play ultimate frizbee, and goes above and beyond his duties as a medical technician and training manager for Buckley AFB. Isabelle (our oldest) is a fun-loving little pistol who likes to mother anybody smaller than she is (even if they aren't younger). :-) Gabriel is our protective but loving ball of energy that loves to be the hero for everyone. His favorite superheros are spiderman and superman, and we regularly find him fighting evil and warding off invisible minions during the day. Sometimes we even take on the role of his sidekick or evil enemy to liven up the script and story of his battles.
We are a loving family that longs to teach our children values, and show them how to love others no matter who they are. We love diversity, and encourage our children to learn new things and understand the world around them. We have regular "dance-like-nobodies-looking" parties, and like to spend time outside in the sun. We enjoy hiking, biking, and camping.
We aspire to continue a ministry in Peru, after our adoption, even if it is just through financial support for the orphanages there. Maybe something more if doors open for it. :-)
