BENEFITING: VOICE FOR MADDIE INC
Kai recently participated in the Angelman Literacy Surf Camp. It was funded by the Voice for Maddie Foundation, founded by my friend Clara who has a 3-year old daughter with Angelman Syndrome. It is extremely inspiring to see her working above and beyond to support literacy and communication for not only her own child but for all Angelman children.
She is currently working on the next event. Clara's goal is to provide special-needs families and professionals with valuable learning opportunities in order to support children and adults with complex communication needs.
When Kai was diagnosed 4 years ago, we were told that he may never learn to communicate. I know from first hand experience how crucial and impactful it is to receive encouragement and knowledge that the sky is the limit. Kai is considered nonverbal, but he has learned to use approximate sounds, signs, gestures, and his speech app on the iPad to communicate. We still have a long difficult road ahead us, however I am extremely grateful that the Voice for Maddie Foundation will be with us on this journey.
Kai's 6th birthday is coming up, and we would greatly appreciate if you consider giving him a small gift by donating to the Voice for Maddie Foundation. By supporting the Voice for Maddie Foundation, you will be supporting a cause that brings knowledge, hope, awareness, and joy to families, professionals, children, and adults, including Kai, Morgan, and myself. Thank you for being a part of Kai’s life, and thank you for your ongoing support.
