BENEFITING: MUTTMATCH LA INC
EVENT DATE: Mar 20, 2014
When it rains it pours and we're drowning in vet bills. This year my birthday wish is to pay off some of our VET DEBT.
Starting with baby Jackson (pictured). Jackson is our newest pack member, a sweet, adorable three-month-old Lab mix with his whole life ahead of him and even a family interested in adopting him, but sadly he has been hospitalized for distemper. We are heart broken but determined to fight for this little guy.
Second is Rutherford, our gentle giant. Rutherford is a one-year-old 105-pound Bouvier who was adopted last year as a five-month-old puppy. As he grew, his hind legs began to bow, causing his feet to turn out and inflicting pressure and pain on his hips. His family was not prepared for two knee surgeries and possible hip surgery and decided it was in his best interest to surrender him back to Mutt Match. Because we are here for our adopted dogs for their lifetimes, we will now incur his medical cost for the surgeries and necessary rehabilitation. Estimated cost is $6,000.
Third are miscellaneous vet expenses:
- 15 spay/neuters
- 5 dentals
- 1 minor surgery to remove a non-malignant mass
- various misc. expenses
...all totaling about $10,000.
No amount is too small. It all goes (as my life has) TO THE DOGS :)
