Custodial Training for Homeless New Yorkers:
YOUR DONATION WILL BE MATCHED $ FOR $!
ACE is launching a brand new Custodial Training Program and we need your help! Your donation will support homeless New Yorkers who are enrolled in ACE’s vocational training program to complete a rigorous, 40 hour, custodial training course, which will give them the skills needed to obtain higher paying, full time employment. This comprehensive course includes:
- Green Cleaning - Products and Practices
- Basic Chemistry for Custodians
- OSHA "Right to Know Law": Hazardous Chemicals
- OSHA "Blood-borne Pathogens, Bodily Fluids": Resilient Floor Maintenance
- Emergency Preparedness and Response
Custodial positions pay well above the minimum wage and will enable these dedicated men and women to break the cycle of poverty and provide for themselves. The jobs they will be eligible for include custodial work in hotels, hospitals and schools as well as government and professional office buildings.
$150 will provide one day of training for one student, and $750 will allow one trainee to complete the entire 40 hour course. No amount is too big or too small. Partner with us by donating and your gift will have a profound effect on the lives of homeless New Yorkers and their families. AND we have a generous donor who is willing to match your gift, dollar for dollar, until we reach our goal!
