Hark Society is a non-profit organization comprised of young professionals inspired to enhance education and cultivate passions in the lives of underserved children in New York City through out-of-school programs and mentoring initiatives. We provide small grants to sponsor unique afterschool programs that aim to motivate children to thrive both in and out the classroom.
According to the After School Alliance, 15.1 million school-age children are alone and unsupervised in the hours after school, and 18.5 million children would participate in afterschool programs if made available to them. Students who participate in high-quality afterschool programs have higher rates of attendance, are more activity engaged in the classroom, and show improved coursework and interpersonal skills. At Hark Society, our core mission is to enhance education and cultivate passions of young students by offering opportunities for afterschool programming.
On Sunday, October 18th, Hark Society is hosting the annual Spin for Scholars event at Soul Cycle West Village to raise funds to benefit our mentorship program, which we’ve developed in partnership with The Bronx Charter School for Excellence. The funds raised will directly benefit our 9th and 10th grade mentees. With the money we raise, our mentees will have the opportunity to participate in personalized, developmental programs and extracurricular activities through Hark scholarships.
With your help and generosity, we hope to exceed our fundraising goals to better the lives of our ambitious Bronx mentees. We hope you'll make a gift to help us reach our fundraising goal!
Thank you for supporting our mentees, Hark, and each of our efforts!
