BENEFITING: Harlem United Community AIDS Center, Inc.
ORGANIZER: Harlem United Community AIDS Center, Inc.
Hey sweet pals!
My name is Lauren Ferguson and I'll be running the 2017 NYC Marathon for the Harlem United Community AIDS Center.
As a queer person living in New York, the impact of AIDS on my community weighs heavy on my mind. Over the past year or so, I've become more invested and knowledgeable on queer history in relation to AIDS, and so my decision to run for the Harlem United Community AIDS Center was an easy one. This isn't just about completing a marathon - it's a passion project to support my community in a tangible way. The organization's goal is to provide 100% access to quality HIV/AIDS care for all clients, regardless of race, socio-economic status, or sexual orientation, and your donations to this cause is a vital part of that process. Every cent goes to provide accessible HIV/AIDS support to New Yorkers.
So what can you do? Well, donate here of course! Anything and everything helps. If you are unable to donate, please share this page and help me spread the word!
My goal is to raise $3,000 by the end of October before my November 5th race. I'll be harassing everyone to donate over the coming months, as well as posting updates on my progress.
I appreciate every one of you as I take on this journey. Wish me luck and I tackle 3k and 26 miles!
