BENEFITING: Harlem RBI
ORGANIZER: Harlem RBI
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
It was in September of 2008, I began my goal of running a race in all 50 states (and DC). It has been a thrilling, fun, yet hard endeavor. There were ups and down, but one particular race proved to be most challenging.
On January 10, 2010 it was a cold 28 degrees in Orlando, Florida when I started my last marathon. After completing some 5 hours later, tired and hurting I swore I would never run another marathon again.. .until now! I have been given a wonderful opportunity to run the New York City Marathon in support of Harlem RBI -- an organization that provides inner-city youth opportunities to Play, Learn and Grow! I invite all of my friends and family to be a part of my team as we support Harlem RBI and the many programs it has to create opportunities for academic achievement, team building, social and emotional growth and, of course, the opportunity to Play Ball! The kids at Harlem RBI have goals too so let's give until it hurts (like I did that cold day in Orlando) so they have all the encouragement, tools, and support to acheive them!
