According to the Constitutions of HARTS, we have to “To provide radio network to any charitable or non-profit making organization with the overall objective of serving the community of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, or/and any other territory as determined by the Executive Committee;”
In the past years, HARTS has been actively committed to serving the community by providing amateur radio communication network to various charitable organizations in securing the safety of participants and volunteers. In various fund raising events, we deployed amateur radio operators in locations where there was no mobile phone coverage. It ranged from 88 storey high ifc2 Tower to 100 kilometer MacLehose Trail. We serve the community in an absolutely volunteer basis. Normally, we would not engage in events with the nature of profit making, political, or religious background. We wholeheartedly support non-profit making and charitable organizations.
Support HARTS in Establishing HARTS Communication Support Services Centre (VR2HK) had paid years of effort in applying for a piece of government land for the development of amateur radio communication services. In early October 2014, a piece of land near Eastern Harbour Tunnel in Cha Kwo Ling Road, Yau Tong, was granted to HARTS by Lands Department. We are preparing the construction work for the Communication Support Service Centre (CSSC). The construction projects include Construction of main gate and associated barrier, Clearance of grass and scrub, Site formation and construction of leading road and 6 parking spaces, Construction of a 0.5m fencing wall facing the Eastern Cross Harbour Tunnel, building a 2000 sq. ft. structure, Electrical installation, water supply and internal renovation of the structure, submission of landscape proposal and associated horticulture works, Rental of portable toilet and etc.
The initial estimated budget for such construction work and running cost is not less than US$500,000.
Without support from members, radio amateurs, general public and organizations, HARTS could not establish CSSC for development of radio communication services. Please support us!
