Haseen's Tuition for DC '15 | StartingBloc Institute
Organized by: Haseen Ullah
Haseen Ullah has a sensitive nature and alive personality regarding his involvement in the community highly devoted and committed. His enthusiasm for the community has been fostered since his childhood by a deep fascination with his people and their welfare. From this foundation, he has developed an enduring sense of responsibility and pride in providing care for all age group and gender, even as his perspectives and aspirations matured. For instance, his understanding of the community role of social worker expanded rapidly when he became a volunteer after 2005 earthquake in Pakistan. He has participated first-hand in the response, recovery and rehabilitation. Over several years he began to realize that combining his concern for social work with his commitment to community service was an extremely fulfilling endeavor. He also eagerly helped his community in the devastated flood in 2010. His experiences as a volunteer with different organizations such as Danish Muslim Aid, Engineers without borders, Hopes Foundation Denmark and Karwan Development Foundation sparked his first consideration of a career in social sector and encouraged him to further explore this interest. He has bonded two different societies, one highly sophisticated society (Danish) and the other most deprived (his own Community) by establishing a sponsor based primary school for over 300 poor children in the village of Landi Daudzai and surrounding areas. (Seehttp://hopes.dk/projekter for more info) Haseen is having a deep interest to participate in StartingBlock Fellowship. It brings together entrepreneurs, activists, educators, and innovators working to create change. It connects them to their tribe and gives them access to the resources, co-conspirators, projects and support they need to create the impact they want. He thinks it's a multi linguistic society with confluence of people from varied culture, nationality, religion, race and ideology, and believes that his exposure to these kinds of diverse influences will aid in the overall development of his personality and will help him broaden his concept from the narrower confines of nationalism to internationalism.
