Six days til we open the maze to the public. Construction is under way, and we hope to be ready on time. We still need your donations! See More
The Oklawaha River Valley Civic Center, in an effort to provide a safe and fun environment for our children and families this Halloween, has decided to host our first annual Haunted Hog Valley Haunted Maze. We have been successful in receiving some materials and decorations from our members, but...we feel we could do more if we had funding for lighting effects and a few animated display pieces to present a better experience for all. While we are charging a nominal admission of $1 per child and $2 per adult to help offset expenses, we are also accepting donations of non-perishable food items in lieu off a cash admission. These food items will be used to help establish an emergency Food Pantry (another new service we're starting). The Hog Valley area is a community that has a year round population as well as 'seasonal' residents. While we aren't a 'ghetto' area, we do have many families with, at best, marginal incomes, and we receive very little assistance, relying mostly on the three local churches and two civic clubs to provide for the emergency needs of our locals. It's hoped that Haunted Hog Valley can become a linchpin in a renewed effort to help serve the needs of the community. So, please give, and give as generously as you can, though anything would be gratefully accepted. Don't be afraid to help us exceed the stated goal. Anything extra will be put towards funding other upcoming events, such as Thanksgiving Dinner, the Christmas Parade and Toy Giveaway being the closest as well as adding to the Food Pantry.
